The Scarlet Faithful is a multi-faceted site dedicated to covering Rutgers Athletics owned and operated by co-founder Aaron Breitman. He has been a fan of Rutgers sports since the 1980’s, is a 2000 graduate of Rutgers and has covered Rutgers athletics since 2015.
The Scarlet Faithful provides original content with articles, podcasts and video analysis on a daily basis. The site covers all Rutgers programs including extensive coverage of football and men’s basketball. The Scarlet Faithful podcast is produced daily and available on YouTube, Apple, Spotify and anywhere else podcasts are available.
Aaron is a longtime credentialed media member for the Rutgers athletic department and a voting member for Big Ten basketball.
He previously was the managing editor for SB Nation’s On The Banks and began in the summer of 2015. Soon after, the football program was embroiled in multiple scandals. Former head coach Kyle Flood and former athletic director Julie Hermann were fired at the end of that season. Later that school year, former men’s basketball head coach Eddie Jordan was fired as well. To say Aaron was thrown into the fire covering Rutgers athletics is a major understatement.
Aaron grew up attending Rutgers games in football, basketball and soccer as a kid and has been a fan ever since. He has attended hundreds of Rutgers games over the years including the 1989 Atlantic 10 basketball championship game and the 2006 football win over No. 3 Louisville. Of course, there have been plenty of losses grieved through the years as well.
