To fellow Rutgers fans,

If you are reading this, you’ve probably notice the new look and feel of The Scarlet Faithful. I wanted to explain why changes were made. I also wanted to highlight features across the entire site.

After creating The Scarlet Faithful concept and launching the site in late July 2022, it has been a learning experience. Like any new business, working through tweaks and overcoming any new issues as they arise is all part of the process.

My partner Anthony Wright, owner of the Full Ride Network, and I have worked through it all the changes we felt were necessary to make. We ultimately determined that rebuilding a new site to make important changes was necessary. It was the best way to move forward in the long term.

For anyone that ever received security warnings or had links redirect you to outside the site, those issues have been eliminated. We developed a simpler architecture and upgraded our security systems.

This new site will produce a more dynamic experience for Rutgers fans. A faster, better looking and more user friendly site is the result.

The overall presentation of the site has been dramatically improved. The layout is much better. There is also a better display for all of content The Scarlet Faithful produces. The accessibility and speed of the site is better as well.

At the end of every article, related articles or those that are trending will appear as a way to easily access them. In addition, if you are reading a basketball article, continuing to scroll down will lead you to additional basketball articles without needing to click or navigate to another page.

Categories such as football and football recruiting, basketball and basketball recruiting, more sports for the non-revenue programs, former Rutgers athletes in the pros, podcasts and more have been added and or improved. The section tabs remain at the top of the site. However, the categories are also displayed with specific articles on the main page as well. You can also now click on the category heading that appears next to the title at the top of each article. The presentation of each category page is elevated as well.

Advertisements will remain part of the reading experience. However, the layout and distribution will result in better ad flow. As we add local advertising, they will be strategically placed to maintain a clean look. Local companies ads can also be incorporated into multimedia elements of our coverage like podcasts and videos.

Links to our social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram and Twitter have been added to the appropriate icons at the top and bottom of each article. You can click to quickly access our social media pages.

Lastly, one feature that has returned by popular demand is the comment section. We chose to turn it off on the previous site due to spam issues. The comment section is the lifeblood of the community that we want to build at The Scarlet Faithful. It should be more user friendly and produce less spam on the back end for me to filter. It should be easier to stay logged in to make comments as often as you like. I look forward to interacting with many longtime readers as well as new one’s here.

While providing unique and informative content is the ultimate goal, improving the site’s features, presentation and overall experience is a major priority as well.

As co-owner of this site, I’m committed along with my partner Anthony Wright to make this the best site anywhere for Rutgers athletics content. We are dedicated to delivering the highest level of depth and quality of coverage that exists. And we want to continue to evolve and elevate The Scarlet Faithful at every turn. We also want to make sure the user experience is as good as possible as well.

For more Rutgers Athletics content from The Scarlet Faithful, follow us on Twitter and Instagram. You can also subscribe to our YouTube Channel. You can subscribe to The Scarlet Faithful podcast on Apple, Spotify, Pocket Casts and anywhere else you listen to podcasts.

For any individual comments, concerns, questions or suggestions that you have for me directly regarding the site, please email me at breitmanaaron@gmail.com .

For any advertising inquiries, email me or send me a direct message on Twitter.

Thank you for reading, watching, and listening to all of Rutgers athletics content that we produce here at The Scarlet Faithful. It’s been a rewarding experience covering the teams we all love while going through the good and bad times together as a fan base. Better days are here for Rutgers athletics. We’ll remain dedicated to provide the best coverage possible.

Thanks for your support.

Aaron, the improvements are great. I’m finally able to comment! Hope others will discover the superior content of your website and join in with comments that are thoughtful, respectful and reflect the quality of your articles, ‘rapid reactions” and podcasts. Best wishes for continued success building this website into the “go to” source for Rutgers sports
