The Big Ten released the availability report for Rutgers against Virginia Tech per the new league rules two hours before kickoff at 1:30 p.m. ET. Note that this is not an injury report and no reasons are given for a player’s status. Head Coach Greg Schiano will likely be asked about certain players following game. Here is the report for Rutgers and some quick thoughts.
Obviously not having two of the top receivers on the roster listed as out is a concern. Naseim Brantley remains out due to the NCAA eligibility issue that Greg Schiano has spoken on with frustration. Chris Long got dinged up in the season opener against Northwestern. Hopefully, he isn’t a long term injury concern but this his is second week out in a row…..Needham left the Temple game with what appeared to be a significant injury and wasn’t expected to play in this game…..Ofurie and Djabome have limited roles but hopefully are healthy soon.
Running back Aaron Young not being listed on the availability report is a positive sign that he could make his season debut on Saturday.

– LB…— David Cunningham (@therealdcunna) September 16, 2023
