A lot of things need to happen for Rutgers football to have a successful 2023 season. Obviously quarterback play will be a major factor. But there are plenty of other areas that this team need to develop in.

Speaking of starting QB Gavin Wimsatt, the need to find a safety valve in the passing game is essential to his success. Finding playmakers is important, but building trust with a reliable and consistent pass catcher is as well.

For the offensive line to take a step forward this season, finding answers on the right side of the offensive line is a must.

For the defense to get to the next level as a unit, developing true depth along the defensive line is crucial. Rutgers needs 8-10 lineman ideally to excel as a unit and to avoid wearing down in November.

Finding consistency with the specialists are crucial as well. As is improving on special teams with kick coverages and the return game.

Wednesday’s episode focuses on all these areas and discusses the potential player to fill these needs.
