Something to watch for as Kante was a top Rutgers target and he is very close to Gavin Griffiths and his family.

Michigan commenters are saying it was due to academic issues.
While I think he’d be a great addition (especially in light of Ndongo’s uncertain status), I’m not sure he’d qualify at Rutgers either.

It was an admissions issue based on Michigan’s high standard for the test english as a second language (toefl). Rutgers standard for acceptance is still above the Big Ten and national average but lower than Michigan. So it’s possible there would be no admissions issue at Rutgers, but I don’t know for sure.
