For Rutgers fans, the hope of seeing Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper playing together at the RAC stIll alive and well. On Saturday, a potential preview of the two elite prospects as teammates will take place in the Elite 24 game. They are both on the roster for team FUTR. Part of a three day event held by Under Armour for select top recruits, the game will air live on ESPNU at 8:00 p.m.
On Friday, both prospects dropped a spot in the national rankings. Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class, reclassified to the 2024 class as expected. Flagg has been regularly compared to Larry Bird.
Regardless, the fact that Rutgers still has the real possibility of landing the No. 2 and No. 3 recruits in the class of 2024 is still amazing and surreal.
Bailey and Harper have both been competing at the same select events over the past week.
Last week, Rutgers commit Bailey was named the MVP of the Curry Camp where Harper also displayed his top tier talent in front of NBA talent evaluators.
Earlier this week, the pair competed at the Nike Academy. And since Thursday, they’ve been in Atlanta for this Under Amour Elite 24 event. It culminates with Saturday night’s game.
There is speculation that Dylan Harper will announce his college decision within the next few days. If he does ultimately choose Rutgers, who national analysts are projecting, it will be a major coup for head coach Steve Pikiell.
For now, Rutgers fans can get a taste of what things could be like in the 2024-2025 season by watching Bailey and Harper run on the same team together on Sunday.
