On Monday afternoon, 3-star forward Dylan Grant announced his commitment to Rutgers basketball.

Grant’s athleticism, versatility and physicality jumps out on film. He plays above the rim and attacks the glass. Grant can defend multiple positions and has explosiveness in attacking the basket. .

At the Peach Jam in July, Grant averaged 15.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in five games. He shot an impressive 61.2% from two-point range (30-49) and was 15 of 20 from the foul line for 75.0%. Grant scored in double digits in all five games, scored 20+ points twice and recorded a double-double.

In my rapid reaction below, I discuss the impact of Grant and his potential at the next level, what it means for the 2024 class, the recruiting efforts of assistant coach Marlon Williamson, Steve Pikiell’s willingness to capitalize on recruiting momentum and more.

“…workman-like approach and versatility…Always a presence on the glass and as a finisher around the rim….Defensively, he plays bigger than he is and has the athleticism to thrive in a heavy-switch system…” Max Feldman of Made Hoops

Tell me I’m not dreaming when it comes to the composition of this ’24 class!  A nice blend of talent that seems to only need a maestro conductor like Harper to make sweet music.
