The availability report for both teams was released at 10:00 a.m. ET (2 hours before kickoff). My quick thoughts are here.
I’ve also linked a post for live commentary and reader comments throughout the Rutgers-Michigan game before kickoff here.
There are plenty of storylines entering the first game of the 2023 season for this program, but there are eight that I think are most important.
I made four predictions for Rutgers vs. Virginia Tech including what I think will ultimately happen in the game.
This is a huge test for Gavin Wimsatt and Rutgers fans all hope that he is ready for it on Saturday.
After three years in a row of competitive games, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is showing Rutgers the ultimate respect going into Saturday.
Greg Schiano has been extremely respectful and complimentary of the two-time Big Ten defending champions as well, calling this matchup a “great challenge”. You can watch Schiano’s entire game week press conference here.
This week I was a guest on several Michigan sites discussing Rutgers football. They include an appearance on the Block M podcast, a Q&A with On3’s The Wolverine, an appearance on the Wolverine Chronicle podcast as well as a spaces with Ant Wright and other Michigan alums.
I had four football focused episodes of The Scarlet Faithful podcast this week. They included keys to victory for Rutgers against Michigan, a preview with Michigan great and BTN analyst on the game call Jake Butt, what the path to victory could look like for the Scarlet Knights and a discussion on why Rutgers is better right now.
Rutgers is in the top 30 of many statistical categories this season and it helps explain how much this team is improved.
Let’s hope Rutgers can go into the Big House and play a great game. Embrace the opportunity and what a victory could mean for the program. We know it’s unlikely, but as fans we should dream of the possibility after a strong 3-0 start to the season.
Check back with The Scarlet Faithful for all of our in-depth postgame coverage.
