This weekend, basketball legend Steph Curry hosted his annual his hands-on training camp that includes just over two dozen of the top male and female high school prospects in the country. One of the players at Curry Camp was Rutgers commit Ace Bailey. He is currently ranked the No. 2 recruit in the nation per 247 Sports composite rankings.

Bailey has all the physical tools of an elite basketball player. However, he has been praised this summer by multiple recruiting analysts for his development as a complete player. Ace’s willingness and ability to rebound, defend the rim and find open teammates with good passing vision is what will make him a special player.

One question on Bailey is that by playing for an independent AAU team, Athletes of Tomorrow, he has not gone head to head with many of the top prospects in the 2024 class. However, he did this weekend at Curry Camp and made it clear he belongs at the top of the class. Bailey was named MVP of the Curry Camp.

Jonathan Givony is an NBA draft analyst at ESPN and is highly respected. His declaration regarding Ace Bailey’s performance is extremely high praise considering the elite prospects at the camp.

More praise came from Kameron Hay of Complex Sports.

The athleticism of Bailey is simply off the charts. Dunking outside of game action does not necessarily translate on the court, but his ability and power is evident in these highlights.

The top recruit in the 2024 class and Rutgers lean Dylan Harper was also at Curry Camp. It’s been a busy summer and head coach Steve Pikiell along with his coaching staff have been everywhere watching Harper play. The elite New Jersey guard showed off his talent in  highlights here.

On Friday, Bailey and Harper produced a few highlights together playing alongside Cooper Flagg, the current top prospect in the 2025 class who could ultimately reclassify.

Here is a IG post that shows Bailey and Harper hanging out off the court.

Next Saturday on August 12 Bailey and Harper will be on the same team at the Under Armour Elite 24 event in Atlanta, Georgia. It it yet another opportunity for the duo to play together, continue to bond off the court and for Bailey to recruit Harper to Rutgers.

With many recruiting analysts projecting in recent days that Harper will ultimately end up at Rutgers, the hope of Steve Pikiell landing the top two players in the 2024 class is becoming more likely. Not to mention that RU already has two 4-stars prospects in Lathan Sommerville and Bryce Dortch committed as well. It’s a dream of epic proportions but one that is rooted in reality.

While Rutgers fans continue to hope for Dylan Harper to commit to Rutgers, Ace Bailey showed this weekend that his sky is the limit in regard to his potential. He’s a special player and the idea that he will call the RAC home soon enough is a delight of epic proportions.
