Rutgers commit Ace Bailey has had a busy and productive summer. It ended with his MVP performance at the exclusive Curry Camp, followed by competing last week at the Nike Academy and Under Armour Elite 24 event.

Recruiting analysts have raved about his continued development on the court this summer. Bailey has all the physical tools of an elite basketball player. However, he has been praised for his development as a complete player. Ace’s willingness and ability to rebound, defend the rim and find open teammates with good passing vision is what will make him a special player at the next level and beyond. He is already being evaluated by NBA teams for the 2025 Draft based on the high level Bailey is playing at.

Of course, Rutgers fans have a lot to be excited about with the No. 3 recruit in 2024 class. Bailey has a chance to help the Scarlet Knights to a special season and potentially pair with No.2 Dylan Harper, who is expected to announce his own decision in the coming weeks.

During the Elite 24 event last week, Bailey took time to speak with former NBA player Matt Barnes for Showtime Basketball. Topics covered include his experience playing with Steph Curry at his camp, how he describes his own game, discussed what he needs to work on, his recruitment process and why he chose Rutgers, his goals for his senior year of high school, dealing with pressure and much more.

Watch the 8-plus minute interview with Ace Bailey and Matt Barnes below.

Good to hear Ace’s reasons for committing to Rutgers and his confidence in himself.
