Ray Guy Award winner Adam Korsak has been invited the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. The best punter in Rutgers history will take part in the kicking workout scheduled for March 3. He would be the first Rutgers punter every drafted if selected in April’s NFL Draft.
All of the top prospects will participate in the marquee showcase and the annual event is held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. All of the scheduled workouts by position will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
Korsak is the NCAA all-time leader in punting attempts (349) and yardage (15,318), is a three-time Rutgers captains and is tied for the program record with 58 games played.
In his historic collegiate career, Korsak had 41.5% percent of his punts downed inside the 20. He also produced a streak of 150 punts spanning over 27 games and three seasons without a touchback. Korsak also had 63 punts of at least 50 yards. He had just seven total in his career while never having a punt blocked nor returned for a touchdown.
After being a Ray Guy Award finalist in 2021, Korsak won the prestigious honor for the 2022 season. Last fall, Korsak led the country with 32 punts downed inside the 20 as well as -11 return yards against overall. In addition, he ranked third in net punt average (43.57).
A memorable moment with Korsak was flying back to America from his native Australia to play for Rutgers in the 2021 Gator Bowl after they received a last minute invitation.
Korsak was one of the most popular players with the fan base that Rutgers has ever had. The Aussie wonder was a class act and made RU fans proud on and off the field. He was also a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
If Korsak hears his name called on draft day, Rutgers Nation will be cheering loudest. Either way, there is hope that Korsak will be playing on Sundays for a long time.
