The calendar is turning to August and any form of the offseason is officially over. The summer flew by with the never ending college basketball recruiting cycle with the transfer portal and NIL. The new month brings new beginnings for many Rutgers athletic programs.
Football training camp begins on Thursday, August 3. There is reason for optimism but many questions to be answered as well
Men’s Basketball still is working to complete its roster for next season. In addition, they head to Senegal and Portugal from August 8-19.
The Women’s Basketball team will also take an overseas trip from August 7-17 to Croatia and Greece.
In addition, the Fall sports get underway with Men’s soccer, Women’s soccer, Field Hockey and Volleyball beginning their 2023 seasons in August.
August also marks Year Two of The Scarlet Faithful. For anyone who is reading this, thank you for your support this past year.
I have updates on the podcast and future plans with collaborators for the site as well as many guests in the fall. A forum for game threads and a shop with merchandise featuring branding for The Scarlet Faithful and Rutgers themed items are in the works.
As always, the focus and priority is on providing content and coverage of Rutgers athletics the only way I know how. Connecting with fans and offering my own perspective is the ultimate goal.
