Dylan Harper was in action this past weekend on the EYBL circuit and the Rutgers priority target excelled as usual. In four games in Memphis for the NY Rens, Harper scored at least 13 points, pulled down at least 8 rebounds and dished out at least 5 assists in every contest. His consistency to dominate the highest level of AAU competition is why he continues to earn praise from recruiting analysts.
He is currently averaging 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and shooting 50.4% from the floor over 28.7 minutes per game in 16 contests this spring.
The No. 2 recruit in the 2024 class showed his toughness and an attacking mindset on Memorial Day weekend. Here is exclusive footage to the Scarlet Faithful courtesy of Hitmen Hoops. The best thing that this film shows is Harper’s winning mentality and mindset. It was his fourth game in two days. And yet, his willingness to attack the rim and draw contact repeatedly was on full display. While there were no crowd pleasing dunks, his workmanlike attitude was telling in so many ways. Harper also demonstrated his unselfishness and is currently third in EYBL in assists per game. His ability to create shots both for himself and his teammates are key to having the ball in his hands at the next level.
While he is unlikely to announce his decision before the Peach Jam in July, things are trending positively for Rutgers. Aside from his elite talent, his mentality would be a perfect fit for Steve Pikiell’s program. Harper would become the highest ranked recruit to ever sign with Rutgers if he ultimately decides to become a Scarlet Knight. Stay tuned.
In our video below, Harper is playing against Vegas Elite on Sunday, May 28 in Memphis. He scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
