Episode No. 105 ranks ranks all eight wins for Rutgers men’s basketball over Indiana, the parallels of rising up in the Big Ten and beating the Hoosiers, the significance tied to July 4 and more.
This past season’s win over Indiana at the RAC was wild and the coming out party for Derek Simpson. The Hoosiers came in ranked No. 10 nationally and Big Ten preseason favorites. They had their spirit broken in a 63-48 loss that wasn’t even that closee.
There was the first ever win over Indiana in Assembly Hall that was critical to making the NCAA Tournament in 2021. A sneaky big win in this series that might not be remembered enough.
And the second away win against Indiana with Ron Harper Jr. nailing a game winning dagger with an epic celebration to follow.
A home win in 2020 showed that Steve Pikiell’s team had a legitimate chance for the postseason for the first time in years. It was a midseason game against Indiana who also had started off well.
Ending Archie Miller’s tenure in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament was memorable. It was the third win of the season over Indiana was fun. Did it even make the top 5 though?
The Geo Baker Senior Night comeback performance for the ages at the RAC in front of friends and family only during Covid.
And there was the 2019 team effort win to beat a fellow middle of the pack Indiana squad.
And of course, the win that started it all at Madison Square Garden in the 2018 Big Ten Tournament.
