Derek Simpson and Cam Spencer are two key players set to return next season. Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports
Episode No. 70 of The Scarlet Faithful podcast is all about Rutgers men’s basketball. With the transfer portal entry deadline to be eligible to play next season having passed, the offseason is progressing for the program. The next few weeks are critical in filling out the roster and coaching staff for the 2023-2024 season.
This episode focuses on the transfer portal deadline passing, how the roster is currently assembled and the questions that remain this offseason including the potential returns of Cliff Omoruyi and Paul Mulcahy, how the program will fill the remaining open scholarships as well as now two openings on Steve Pikiell’s staff. Discussion includes how the limitations that players have when entering the transfer portal passed the deadline, the timeline for Omoruyi and Mulcahy to make a decision, the expected signing of Jamichael Davis, and how Pikiell has an additional staff opening on top of an assistant role to fill.
Here is a current snapshot of the Rutgers roster as of now. For a full review of the depth chart and how the versatility could dictate options in filling out the roster, click here.
