Welcome to episode No. 49 of The Scarlet Faithful podcast. This episode is a quick review of results from this past weekend for multiple Rutgers programs. In addition, there is a more in-depth discussion on football and men’s basketball. For our last episode that covered the introductory press conference for offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca, click here.
Wrestling split the weekend. Friday’s win over No. 2o Michigan State was followed by a loss to No. 3 Michigan. Women’s basketball lost to both Michigan and Michigan State. In addition, gymnastics set a program record for best home score while star Hannah Joyner broke the school record for best all-around score.
Most of this episode though focuses on football and men’s basketball.
In regard to football, topics include the hiring of Dave Brock as wide receivers coach, the recent recruiting wins from last week, the need to add to the offense through the transfer portal and more.
We delve into the metrics for men’s basketball, what Temple’s win over No. 1 Houston means, the important week ahead including a quick preview of Penn State and much more.
Of course, the episode touches on the tremendous success that former Rutgers running back Isiah Pacheco had in his NFL playoff debut on Saturday for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Thanks,Aaron, for covering so many sports in this podcast. When we take a moment to reflect on where the Rutgers athletic program is in terms of the Big Ten and nationally, you can see the progress. Now, we’re among the Big Ten elite in Lax (men & women), Field Hockey, Soccer (men and women), Baseball, Basketball (men) and Wrestling. So, there’s lots to be excited about!
