Rutgers football landed its fourth commitment of the week as 3-star athlete Antonio White announced his plans to become a Scarlet Knight on Saturday.

The 6’2″, 170 pound native of Lilburn, Georgia is ranked No. 119 prospect in Georgia, the No. 115 athlete in the country and No. 1078 overall prospect in the 2024 class per 247 Sports composite rankings.

He has almost two dozen offers and almost a dozen power five offers. They include Auburn, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Pitt, Georgia Tech, Louisville and North Carolina among others. He took official visits in June to Vanderbilt, Rutgers and Kentucky. It ultimately came down to those three schools before he committed to Greg Schiano this weekend.

White plays safety and wide receiver for Parkview high school in Georgia. He had 75 tackles including 50 solo along with 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, 3 interceptions and a pass deflection in 10 games during his junior season. He also caught two touchdowns as a receiver.

While he is listed as an athlete, he projects to play safety for Rutgers. He is a very good athlete with elite jumping ability. Obviously White needs to bulk up to play in the Big Ten but he has real potential to become a multi-year starter in the RU secondary.

Rutgers has three defensive backs committed in the 2024 class. White joins Noah Shaw, who committed on Thursday, and Dahkari Gilley who committed earlier this month. In addition to Shaw and White, Schiano and the coaching staff landed commitments from both linebacker Samarian Robinson and EDGE Elijah King this week.

The 2024 class continues to expand its footprint as Rutgers has commitments from prospects in nine different states now. With 18 commitments currently, the class is now ranked No. 23 nationally and No. 7 in the Big Ten per 247 Sports composite rankings.
