Episode No. 73 of The Scarlet Faithful podcast includes updates on multiple Rutgers sports. It’s been a busy few days and get caught up here.

Rutgers baseball enters the final weekend of the regular season visiting Minnesota to close out Big Ten play. A quick update including the standings, seeding implications, NCAA Tournament outlook and why the team is on a hot streak.

Women’s basketball signed 4-star point guard Lisa Thompson on Wednesday. Rutgers head coach Coquese Washington has been very productive on the recruiting trail this offseason so far.

Track and field delivered the program’s best ever finish at the Big Ten Championships this past weekend.

Rowing earned a fourth consecutive bid to the NCAA Championships under head coach Justin Price.

Men’s lacrosse had Ethan Rall (Second Team) and Shane Knobloch (Third Team) named All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse.

And the episode ends with a quick update on the Rutgers men’s basketball assistant coaching search including the focus on recruiting in the hiring process.

    I would think that the assistant coaching position at Rutgers would attract many interested, qualified candidates with an offensive minded background – especially given the promise of a significant upgrade in personnel in the ’23 & ’24 classes. I think we all agree that a good fit with the existing staff is a must. I’m hoping Pikiell is casting a wide net beyond just old coaching relationships and/or a UCONN connection. I hope Brett MacConnell is an available and viable candidate, among others. To me, this is an important position that needs to be filled with a carefully chosen coach. I have no reason not to believe that Pikiell is doing his due diligence and will only take action when he finds the right fit.
